Finding kid activities in Destin is easy! Destin is a family-friendly destination great for family vacations when the kids are out of school. There is so much for kids to do in Destin whether it be educational, creative, exciting, or all of those things! Here’s a lineup of the top 10 kid activities in Destin:
1. Big Kahunas
This water park is huge with over 40 different attractions including water slides, lazy rivers, wave pools, and the Honolulu half pipe! There are kiddie rides and shallow swimming pools for the younger kids, too.
2. The Beach
There’s an endless list of activities for kids to do at the beach. They can build sandcastles, splash in the ocean, and boogie board! One great thing about this kid activity is that it’s free! So layer on the sunblock and get out to the beach!
3. The Track
The Track is a kid fun-zone including go-carts, bumper boats, kiddie rides, an arcade, and goofy golf! This is a great spot for some recreational fun with the kids.
4. Destin Laser Tag
Destin Laser Tag is the best spot for some friendly competition! Consider a parents vs. kids game of laser tag in the black-light maze!
5. Feed the Live Alligators at Fudpucker’s
This restaurant not only has great food, but they offer a great experience too! During show times you can feed the gators and have your picture taken holding a live alligator! Kids also eat half price on Thursdays!
6. Go Fishing
Known as the “World’s Luckiest Fishing Village,” Destin is a great place to take the kids fishing! Sign up for a day trip on a fishing charter or a half day on one of the many party boat tours. The Okaloosa Pier is also a great spot to fish from!
7. Rent jet skis or a pontoon boat
This will be a thrill for the kids! Children must be 14 years or older to operate a jet ski, and younger children can ride as passengers with life jackets. If you take the jet skis out into the Gulf be sure to keep an eye out for dolphins!
8. Zip line and rock climb at Harbor Walk Village
Harbor Walk Village is the activity center of Destin. There are shops, restaurants, frequent festivals, and tons of kid activities. Some favorites include the zip line and the rock wall!
9. Play in the Destin Commons’ dancing fountain (FREE!)
The Destin Commons is a huge outdoor mall with a family-friendly atmosphere. In the courtyard you’ll find a dancing water fountain where parents bring their kids in bathing suits to splash around for hours. Right next to the fountain there is also a park with slides and climbing stations.
10. Gulfarium Marine Adventure Park
The Gulfarium has been around since 1955, but is constantly innovating new ways to entertain kids and families. Their mission is to “educate, entertain, and inspire guests to respect and preserve wildlife by providing unique and memorable experiences for visitors of all ages to connect with marine life.” Your kids are sure to have fun, and learn along the way
