Long weekends are a great time to reconnect with you kids. Here are a few fun things you can do with your kids this Labor Day weekend:
1. Watch a fireworks show over the Destin Harbor.
On Thursday, September 1, Harbor Walk Village of Destin will be hosting its last Red, White & Blue Celebration of the summer. Harbor Walk has been putting on grand firework displays every Thursday since the beginning of the summer. Come out for a presentation of the colors by the Guard, an air show, live music, and the grand firework finale!
2. Get crafty.
Pick up some watercolors at the Dollar Tree and let your imagination run free! If you or your child isn’t sure what to paint, consider something patriotic like an American flag. For a little extra artistic inspiration, take your family to the Baytowne Art Walk. This three day event lasts from Friday, September 2 – Sunday, September 4, 5-10 p.m., so you can go on whichever day is best for you. Artists will display their craftsmanship and your kids will love seeing each artist’s unique style.
3. Have a dance party.
Starting at 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 3 and Sunday, Spetember 4, there will be live music at Harborwalk Village during their Labor Day Celebration! Take your kids to listen to the tunes and watch their fancy footwork! Kids are always ready to dance! After they’ve danced out all their energy, take the family for a bite to eat at one of the Harbor’s many restaurants and watch the firework show at 9:00 p.m.
