Few things can capture the natural beauty that the Emerald Coast exudes like stargazing on the beach. The fine, white sand under your toes and bright, sparking stars overhead will result in an overload of joy of intergalactic proportions. The Department of Environmental Protection s Henderson Beach State Park will host a star gazing program. Volunteers from the Northwest Florida Astronomy Association will set up several telescopes for public viewing of star clusters, planets, and galaxies and to answer questions about the night sky. Also, the club will set up their telescopes for safe viewing of the sun starting at 5:00 p.m. All ages are invited to come and see the stars and sun at Henderson Beach. The park will close at sunset. All those attending the star gaze should arrive prior to sunset. Call park for sunset times. Event Weather Permitting. More information on the event can be found here
