Located in Freeport, near both Destin and 30A, The E. O. Wilson Biophilia Center is a center dedicated to preservation and teaching. The center is located in the Longleaf Pine ecosystem, which is considered the 6th most biodiverse area in the continental US. The center promotes science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, and provides visitors with a better understanding of their surroundings. At the Center, you will find Florida Gators, Turtle Talks, and GIANT snakes! You’ll come face-to-face with reptiles of all shapes and sizes and learn through arts-and-crafts! Also located on the premises is the 100-year-old Cracker House. A tour of the house will inform guests on what it was like to live the simple life. A wood burning stove, wood-carved furnishings, and cast-iron pans are just of few of the old-time amenities you’ll see in the house. For more information on the E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center, visit their site by clicking here.
