The Crab Island Cantina will be hosting the annual stand-up competition that has really taken off since its inception in 1988. The idea was the brainchild of Karen Koren, serving the purpose of finding new comedic talents. Some rules for the events are as follows: -The performer cannot have performed stand-up regularly, either paid or unpaid, before June 1, 2013. -The performer may not have appeared on So You Think You’re Funny before -The performer’s materials must be completely original. -The performer must have at least 8 minutes of original material -The organizers reserve the right to select al entrants and decisions made by the judges and organizers are final -All entrants must be 18 and over A series of comedians will perform every Sunday at the Crab Island Cantina, and the 1st place participant will win a round trip for two to Las Vegas to perform at the World-Famous Comedy Store. All shows will start at 6 pm and the dates for performances are: May 25, June 1, June 8, June 15, and June 22. Crab Island Cantina is generally a very family-friendly atmosphere; however, it is recommended you call the Cantina with any inquires on the performances.
